Sydney is a photographer exploring places, people and the landscapes the world has left for us to view. Based in Matthews, NC, she is an avid traveler, capturing the world she’s lucky enough to observe. She is also a chandler, candlemaker, exploring the intersections of senses as fragrances and wax come together.
Exposed to art at a young age, Sydney grew up in a gallery in Indianapolis, IN, on the once art-soaked street of Mass Ave. Her parents, founders of the Four Star Gallery, soaked their lives, weekends, and night in art, exposing Sydney to the worlds people can create and share.
In a high school photography class, she inherited her brother’s old Canon camera. Experimenting with it, she began crafting worlds, creating visions and finding beauty in the landscapes around her each and every day.
Her exploration of cameras bled into college, where many late nights were spent in the photo lab processing film and working on balancing prints.
After college, Sydney lost sight of photography personally, enjoying and loving the work of legends, but never fully dabbling again until her candle business needed more photos. That reignited Sydney’s love for photography.
Rediscovering the love of art and photography has been the greatest gift of balance and depth.
